Bachelor of Divinity in Theology. - Undergraduate Degree

Type of qualification: Theology / Religious Studies. BDin Theology. Students can complete a Diploma in Theology before moving on to the BD. The course provides a theological education suited particularly, but not exclusively, to those intending to work in Christian ministries. It covers a range of topics including philosophical approaches to religion as well as more ministry-oriented topics such as liturgy and the relationship of church and society
Course format: Wholly distance learning. Students are supplied with a detailed Subject Guide for each paper; each Guide provides an introduction to all the topics on the syllabus and suggestions for further reading.
Course duration: More than 3 years. Students have between 3-8 years to complete the BD and between 1-5 years to complete the Diploma.

Entrance Requirements: To be eligible for the BD Divinity applicants must be at least 17 years of age or over at the time of registration and satisfy the following criteria: either two subjects at GCE ‘A’ Level and at least three further subjects at GCSE or GCE ‘O’ Level (at not less than grade C or a ‘pass’ if taken prior to 1975); or three subjects at GCE ‘A’ Level, and one further subject at GCSE or GCE ‘O’ Level (at not less than grade C); or two subjects at GCE ‘A’ Level and two further subjects at ‘AS’ Level.
Cost of Course: Fees are payable in advance or pay-as-you-go. Application handling fee £47. Initial registration fee £327. Continuing registration fee £228. Examination fee (per full unit) £126. Examination fee (per half unit) £63. Exemption fee (per full unit) £50. Exemption fee (per half unit) £25.
